It’s easier to be more of an observer when it comes to capturing moments in your children’s lives. Sometimes you do it as a documentarian, without creating a disturbance, you try to record a beautiful moment unfolding before your eyes. And other times you play more of a director’s role, telling your kids to look up, smile, or say happy birthday to Grandma!

There are purists out there who would argue that in order to take truly beautiful pictures of your family, you need a good camera. And not just a Point and Shoot – an honest to goodness camera, with a proper lens and all the bells and whistles.

Here’s a fun little “To-Do” project for all you moms and dads out there. Now that a few weeks of school are under our belts, you should ask your kids 3 questions about how they are feeling now and then ask the same three questions six months from now.
You can take a video or just record their answers. It’ll be amazing to discover how much things change in such a short period of time and it will create a great keepsake that captures special little childhood moments. (more…)
Photo books are great. We all love them. They look nice on coffee tables and mantles, they make wonderfully thoughtful gifts, and they make a great keepsake for your family. But let’s face it, making them is one heck of a daunting task.
Thanks to the digital age and camera phones, we all get pretty snap happy and take as many pictures as possible, with the intention of deleting ones that didn’t work out later. (more…)
We all love our children equally. They are all special and unique in their own way. But for some reason, generally speaking – there seem to be more photos and videos of the first-born than of the other children in the family.

Some of us (thankfully) like to share photos with a little more discretion, especially when it comes to pics of our kids. Perhaps Facebook is not the most appropriate place to post Dylan’s first time on the potty. Well, unless you want to add to his arsenal of “What Mommy Did Wrong” for future therapy sessions.
